CIW Courses
Information on CIW courses should be coveted, because its allows those taking the course to become proficient in web-site and internet technologies. In fact, you can learn all about web design, the web and all the associated hardware and software.
And for those of you unsure as to what the initials stand for, it’s Certified Internet Webmaster. Now, being a webmaster can’t be a bad thing and this type of course – some variations do exist from supplier to supplier – will give you a great advantage either in your current job, or if looking for a new career.
And although many of the CIW training courses differ in content and approach, they have the basic ambition to turn out people that are well-rounded professionals with a solid grounding in all aspects. This would include web design, web and systems security, network administration and web site implementation and management.
CIW courses are organised under the CIW Programme banner and it is recognised as an IT professional qualification by companies, educational establishments, the government and the media.
CIW courses can be taken by distance learning, or within the classroom, and there are four master-level certifications: Master CIW Web Site Manager, Master CIW Administrator, Master CIW Designer and Master CIW Web Site Manager. The courses are endorsed by the International Webmasters Association (IWA).
CIW courses started out as a way of certifying those who did development specialised internet work, but has since broadened out to include many different disciplines, related to the general field of IT as well as the world wide web. These include system security, the development of applications, server administration, working on enterprise solutions and programming languages.
In fact, the course had outgrown it’s original description, so many course providers no longer use the words behind the initials - Certified Internet Webmaster – and just use the CIW as a generic branding.
CIW courses tend to be taken in levels, gradually adding different parts and each level can cost anything from £100.
So, if you want to work as a professional within the field of the internet, the various CIW courses are for you. And just now and then, you might like the title of Webmaster!
